But, I've done a lot over the past year as well as a lot has happened in life. It all started last November when I found out my dad had Stage IV lung cancer. We were supposed to be spending Christmas in Ohio; but thanks to an understanding husband we quickly switched our plans up and decided to go to Arkansas for Christmas to spend time with family (knowing full and well it could very well be the last Christmas we all got to spend with my dad).<br />
<br />
December:<br />
We were able to fly home to Arkansas the night before Christmas Eve, we spent just a couple days there before we headed to Houston with my parents and my sisters and her kids plus my other 2 sisters and some of their kids. My dad was accepted into the Keytruda drug trial at MD Anderson and he was to start his treatment during this time. Tony arranged for us to stay in these awesome luxury/furnished apartments while we were there. The weather was gorgeous and in the 70s and 80s the majority of the time. It did get slightly cooler a few mornings; but nothing compared to winter in Alaska. I was able to continue my running streak while on vacation and even got to run outside the majority of the time we were on vacation.<br />

We headed to Kenai for a hockey tournament and I had to improvise and run outside in snowstorm because the place we stayed out did not have a gym. It was so cold! But I did manage to see a pair of moose on the way. Needless to say, I backed away and ran back to the hotel shortly after.</div>

March:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Decided to run a 5k in Girdwood super last minute (literally a couple days before the race) because a friend had an extra race entry by accident. It was my first race that I ever ran where it was -3* at the starting line. I was super cold and my anxiety/claustrophobia kicked in and I felt like I could not even breathe because it was so freaking COLD! But, I preserved and finished that race in a respectable 29:43 coming in 51st out of 164 people! The highlight of the race was we ran twice around the park and by all of the animals that they have to see at the Alaska Conservation Center. </div>

April:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The end of March through the middle of April saw me heading out on a TDY to Mississippi. I was able to run a few races while I was in town. My first weekend there I a) got burnt like a lobster and 2) ran in the Mardi Gras 5k race in D'Iberville where my hotel was located. I had forgotten how nice it was to run small races (better chance at winning A/G) ;). This race course was ran through a neighborhood and ended up at a park next to the new casino that they built there. I felt sorry for a couple guys because they were supposed to start the walk portion first and then the run. Well, they ended up changing things up; but no one told the volunteers out on the trail. The lead 3-4 guys were turned around at the 1mi course turn around and ended up running an extra 1/2mi - full mile. A few of them were still able to make up the time difference even with the extra mileage and still finish in top spots; but for one of the guys he could not make up the time and to say he was mad would be an understatement! YIKES! I felt really bad for the race director as this was the first annual running of that race. :( But, even with the heat and humidity, I came in First in my A/G (4th Female overall)! </div>

The next weekend I was able to drive an hour away across the state line to beautiful Mobile, Alabama to run the Get Your Rear in Gear 5k race held on the gorgeous campus of University of Southern Alabama. This race was another small/local race. This race breaks my heart because I was lead female for a while; then I spent the rest of the race chasing another lady down. I ended up getting passed towards the end when I race out of gas. I finished that race 3rd female overall and 2nd in my A/G. Figures the first and second female finishers were both in my A/G so I did not get a medal that race as they only gave them to first in the A/G. :( There weren't any more races in either AL or MS while I was there so I spent my last weekend there just running outside as much as I could. I found a couple pretty cool trails while I was there. It was nice actually having a rental car on a TDY for once!</div>

Suffered an ankle sprain after rolling my ankle on the trails...my running streak helped me recover much quicker than I'm used to and I was able to maintain my streak hobbling through a couple slow 1 milers until it was better 3 days later.<br />

After I finished training, I decided to stop in AR for a few days to see my mom and dad. I was able to find a local 5k in OK (just across the state line) while I was home visiting. My mom even got up and went out with me. It was nice, I don't usually have an audience or fans :) This race boasted of gentle rolling hills. Well, the race director and I must have some very DIFFERENT definitions for rolling hills. This course started on Carl Albert State University campus and end up running a giant square around campus back to the start. There was a HUGE hill at the very beginning next to the cemetery and we literally ran by cows. On our way home, my mom and I were rear-ended on the highway and it totaled her car. We had to have my sister drive the 30mins into OK to pick us up. This was a super quick trip; but I did get to spend some time with mom and dad. </div>

May: </div>
In May, Liz and I signed up to do the Bike 4 Women race. This was both of ours first time doing an actual bike race. Needless to say, it might be Liz's last :( Its a time trial which means the bikers are released every 20 secs. Neither of us had ever been on this course before, so we had NO idea where we were going. After we started firetrucks went screaming by and police officers. Liz was in front of me following a couple of friends that we knew in the race. Well, needless to say they saw the firetrucks turn down their road and decided to veer off course to check on their house. Liz had no idea they were going off course and followed suit. Well, its an out and back course. Yup, you guessed it, she turned left and ended up getting t-boned by a lady on her way back to the finish line who was flying down a hill. The lady was pissed and Liz was crying. The lady was awful towards Liz who just kept apologizing. We ended up having to have the paramedics check her out and they let her decide if she wanted to finish or not. She did. Well needless to say, there were plenty of tears along the way, complaining; but she refused to cheat and turn back early. Later on we found out that she had been riding the entire 9 miles with the equivalent of her front brake locked on that's why she was having such a difficulty riding up all the hills. :( Poor kid!<br />

A few weeks later, it was time for me to complete my 3rd Gold Nugget Triathlon. I hadn't done an ounce of swimming since last May's tri so I wasn't expecting to set any records or anything. The weather was a lot different than it was last year. It was cold and drizzling and generally miserable if we're being completely honest. 😂 But, I finished and FINALLY finished in under 2 hours!</div>

June:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In June, we decided as a workcenter to go do a 5k on base. There may have only been 11 people show up for this race and 6 or 7 of them were co-workers; but it was still an awesome race. One that I will probably never forget! It was over on the Ft Rich side of base and none of us really knew where we were going (which could have ended badly). There were a 9 year old girl who kept pace for pace with me the first mile of the race which she ended up running in around 7:30. She ended up dropping back a little and I drafted Scott the rest of the race. It was SUPER hot and muggy and I was wearing a cottonish shirt that was not breathing. But we both started running out of gas around 2.5mi mark. Knowing we only had 1/2 mile or so to go and seeing Scott dropping his pace...I did what every runner would do. I put the pedal to the medal and never looked back. :) I ended up wining that race and I got a sweet trophy to help me remember!...even if it was one of my slowest 5k times to date. I also hit 1,000 miles in my streak during June and ran the Alaska Run 4 Women race. </div>

July:<br />
<div>
In July, I ran the Running Free 4 miler that is a pretty neat race that starts at the high school and loops around the womens prison. While you are out there running, there are ladies in the "yard" of the prison cheering you on with homemade signs. Its a pretty emotional experience. This year I got to experience it with Christopher who managed to run when he needed to, take short walk breaks when he needed to and finished sprinting to pass a lady with a small dog at the finish chute. I was super proud of him as 4 miles is a pretty long distance for a 7 year old. He finished 2nd in his A/G which was 0-14 so that is pretty good. :)</div>

August:</div>
<div>
We finally made it to Ohio for the visit that never happened at Christmas and we were able to not only see family; but we were also able to take the kids to their first Indians game as well as Kings Island in Cincinnati! It was a super fun; but short vacation. While I was in Ohio, I found a local 5k to run. The course was a paved trail that used to be railroad tracks. I believe it also doubles as a snow machine trail in the winter. It was so hot, but everyone was super friendly. I'm not entirely sure running a race the day after we get into town late the night before is the best option; but I drug my butt out of bed and ran my race. Bad part is I forgot to pack any running shirts. D'oh! I had to run this race in a cotton shirt and I have NO idea how/why anyone would ever willingly choose to do that...especially these days with all the great tech materials.</div>

When we got back from Ohio, we had a huge inspection at work...that didn't go so well but I did find a nice local 5k here in town to run that was for a great cause! It was the first time I had ever run a trail 5k. The course was entirely on trails in a local park. I got to wear my new Altras that I got for mothers day + my new Dirty Girl Gaiters. :)<br />

September:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Right around Labor Day, my dad ended up in the hospital due to pneumonia again and it got really bad. He was placed in ICU and they decided to intubate him and place him in a medical coma. I got the call from the Red Cross that I should come right away it was not looking good. Tony, the kids and I got onto the next available flight that we could and flew home. He ended up pulling through and I was able to stay 2 weeks until he was released in a local rehab facility. Still I managed my streak once again able to run outside while I was home in Arkansas!</div>

October:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The PTA joined forces with the running club at Alpenglow and we put on the 1st annual Reflections Lake Relay. It was a 1 mile trail around a local lake. We had delayed starts, bibs and we were able to keep track of everyone's finish times. Christopher came in 2nd out of everyone with a 7:27/mi. I was beaming ear to ear. Liz came in 2nd in her A/G as well with a respectable 8:45/mi. It was cold at the start but once the sun came up it definitely warmed up a bit. </div>

<br />
Race start time: 7:10pm (the skinny-mini 6k started at 7:00)<br />
Weather: partly cloudy, cool 64 degrees (there were some menacing clouds and pouring rain just 10 mi away...luckily we stayed dry)<br />
Gear: I wore capri pants (I was afraid we were going to get rained on and I'd be cold...), my old Merrells (they have harder soles than my new ones), a Nathan running vest (to carry water; but also my phone--using it for GPS), a Nathan race belt (for my bib).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<br />
The race started in front of Skinny Raven where we ran straight down H street to 3rd ave. We then turned right onto 3rd where we ran all the way down 3rd to A St. From here we ran across the bridge (they had one of the two lanes closed) and we ran up Govt Hill until we got to the stoplight by Subway. Here we turned left and ran through the neighborhood before coming back to the same stoplight by Subway and running back down Govt Hill to the C St bridge. Once we got back to 3rd Ave, we turned right onto 3rd and ran to Christensen Drive where we turned right to go down this hill to the start of the Coastal Trail. The majority of the rest of the race was ran on the Coastal Trail...gentle rolling hills, a few tunnels and miles of gorgeous scenery of the coast/mountains. We ran the Coastal Trail until we came to Westchester Lagoon. After running next to the lagoon for a few minutes we cut back through the neighborhood...went up 2 last HUGE hills until we rounded the corner to see Delaney Park. We hit grass at this point and I took off at a sprint. I saw tents and thought it was the finish line. But, the corral actually circled all the way down and around the park so I sprinted approximately the last 2/10ths or more at about a 7:00/mi pace. I thought I was going to die and there were SO many people crowding the finish line area I seriously had to push my way through to get some air. <br />
<br />
This was my longest run to date since starting my RunStreak2. I wasn't sure if I was up for it and I had no idea what my pace would be like. I tried not to go out TOO fast because I didn't want to burn out 1/2 way through. I think that running my usual Trail Bay route in my neighborhood that comes up ER Loop Rd really helped me with the hills that were on the course. I didn't have to walk up any of them and I passed tons of people on them. <br />

It's been fairly interesting. I managed to keep my streak alive through our trip to Florida for my graduation as well as a trip to Disney World. The weather has just been gorgeous for this time of year in Alaska. Its only the first week of June and the weather has been steadily in the 60s and low 70s for almost a month now! I still have to do treadmill runs some times when I've run out of time and need to get a late night run in or squeeze a run in between shuttling the kids to their summer activities. <br>
<br>
In May, I completed my 2nd Gold Nugget Triathlon! I almost quit during the swim portion as I have not swam since my tri last summer; but I stuck it out and although my swim time was about 3 minutes slower than last year I finished the race over all 22 minutes faster! I truly believe the RunStreak helped with this race as well because last year I hadn't done much running before the race and I was dying by the time I got to the run. But this year, the bike portion went really well and I smashed the run...only having to stop one time and walk up a hill to catch my breath.<br>

To say that I am obsessed with running at the moment would be an understatement. I love running. I love my streak. And, I may not want to go for a run every single time I need to; but once I drag my butt off the couch, lace up my shoes and get out there and finish my run I feel so much better and I'm so glad that I went for a run.<br>
<br>
For month 4 I ran a total of 54.89 miles. Last night I finished month 5 with a 12k race to end the month with my highest monthly mileage of 70 miles! This is just after I finished my highest weekly mileage of my streak so far last week with 21.75 miles. <br>

Today, I ran an easy 2.11mi as my legs/hips were still a little sore from my race last night. But I used the Road ID app for the first time and the eCrumb tracking feature is pretty damn cool. <br>
<br>
1) I set a timer for how long I'd be gone. <br>
2) Set up my emergency contact info.<br>
3) the app sent my contact a message to let them know I was starting an activity and they could follow along in semi-real-time.<br>
4) The app kept track of where I was by dropping eCrumbs to within 1 min of where I was at all time (depending on how often you want the eCrumbs to drop)<br>
5) Once I finished my run, the app sent another notification to my contact to let them know I had safely finished my run.<br>
<br>
I also purchased a new RoadID bracelet. I have the Sport version now but it is NOT waterproof. I've been wanting a waterproof one for a while but I could not see spending $30 on an Elite...that is until I saw an email in my Inbox from RoadID for a $25 gift certificate from my swag bag for participating in the Million Mile Month. $25! I was therefore able to snag an Elite RoadID for only $9.98! It should be here sometime this week! :)Shoe Sharpehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14461205718899796986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701805834977431189.post-14246661464287969952016-04-23T20:43:00.001-04:002016-04-23T20:43:53.454-04:00Breakup 5k3rd female overall<div>Finished in 25:33</div><div>8:13/mi pace</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjev-zqHhaeSxyaU5J9nl0KLrU_xIROB-hPZQCDHUnDzKZ-8pSrFwmWd2wzTCfKquTM7033y4sc-Pp34kEPz0L-QUiFsqlwKB15lIyE0jT-pqOLo38RQKPCrRK0wZeaei_gDAap86cc5a_L/s640/blogger-image--746143115.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjev-zqHhaeSxyaU5J9nl0KLrU_xIROB-hPZQCDHUnDzKZ-8pSrFwmWd2wzTCfKquTM7033y4sc-Pp34kEPz0L-QUiFsqlwKB15lIyE0jT-pqOLo38RQKPCrRK0wZeaei_gDAap86cc5a_L/s640/blogger-image--746143115.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Shoe Sharpehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14461205718899796986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701805834977431189.post-21970322725813843012016-04-15T02:14:00.001-04:002016-04-15T02:18:40.399-04:00Day 70-100 #RunStreak2Well today is the day. I finally hit triple digits in run days. I've been doing really well with my streak. Realizing when I need to back off and just do the minimum 1 mile run to taper/rest my legs and when I can run more mileage/longer runs. The weather has really been cooperating and I've really been trying to run outside more...only forcing myself to the treadmill if the time gets away from me and I need to get a quick run in late at night. This past weekend we ran a race as a family. Our first time to do that in a long time. Tony and the kids ran 1.3k and I did the 5k course. Of course, my course ended up being .4mi short but it was still fun for the whole family. I've also signed up for a 12k race that is coming up 3 June. So my upcoming race calendar looks like this so far:<br>

I went to the kids ski practice, then we came home went to the Aces game,and afterwards went out to eat celebrating an awesome win over Allen. We walked in the door at 11:42 and I was on the treadmill by 11:44 looking to knock out a mile to keep my streak going. That is probably the closest I have ever been to missing a day. <br>
<br>
Thursday was my birthday and I ran my longest run of this streak (so far)! I set out to run 27 laps (3.37 mi) but 27 came and went and I was still feeling great so I ran 32 laps for an even 4mi. I was looking over my information at SmashRun and found out that my avg pace for the month of January was 9:46/mi and my avg pace so far for February is 9:20/mi! That's an awesome improvement if I do say so myself. <br>
<br>
I also signed up for a 49k in August. This will be my second attempt at the ultra distance. I figure I have lots of time to prepare and it'll be good to have a goal to work towards. I also just bought myself a new hydration vest for the race for Valentines Day. I won't need it for a few months; but it was a great deal that I couldn't pass up. Plus it's Razorback Red so it's got that going for it as well. <br>

I really do feel like a hamster or something running circles inside or on a treadmill. But, it is Alaska. There is not much I can do about that. I've been thinking of getting my old Brooks studded so at least I could have a few runs outside if I want some fresh air and new perspective to running. I am supposed to be going TDY in June which sucks because I'll be missing almost an entire month of outdoor running in Alaska...also missing races as most of the races/tris in Alaska are held May-August. But, I think I have decided I want to run a 49k in August. It would be kind of cool to run a 49k in the 49th state; plus, I might get an opportunity to meet Jeff Galloway and his lovely wife (which would be awesome!!) The only thing that concerns me is the time limit which is 8 hours. 8 hours to run 30 miles doesn't seem like a lot of time to me. But, we shall see. :)<br>

I have noticed that it has become increasingly more difficult to try and maintain a runstreak in the wintertime vs. the summertime in Alaska. I was at more miles when I did my first streak in the summer than I am now. And the reason for that is two-fold: #1) I HATE running on indoor tracks (I feel like a hamster...its 24 laps just to run 3 miles! I get so bored and run so slow because I'm not getting anywhere, just running in circles. Literally!) #2) I have to make up some of my runs on the treadmill and see reason #1 for the reason that sucks. But, I'm trying my hardest to keep up the streak of at least 1 mile a day and I've almost reached my first milestone (1 MONTH!)<br>

Friday I was off (PACAF family day) so I ran a quick 2.78 mi before I had to pick the kids up from school. Saturday the kids had their first ski race of the season. Then I ran a quick mile barefoot and in a bikini so I could keep the streak alive and hop in the hot tub afterwards. The air conditions were terrible and it was hard to breathe in the hangar. But, I have no idea how to deal with her when she gets in a terrible mood and once she knew she was going to fail she was in a miserable mood. I'll do my best to continue to try and motivate her and we'll continue our daily runs. </span></div><div><br></div><div>On a side note, I got my new shoes and shirt in the mail last night and so far I'm in ❤️love❤️!! I tried them out this afternoon for a dreadmill run and was able to knock out 2.75mi. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg_nworaUkilCCteVA4WEXB8LhBK4skMSnxVboqUYO_dcV4nyguAUghDFLhHT8kEgS6COCq5u6Yw2FYBHBagfng_IzJMWxA6-0Pt1m5ahWMxHTWxK4yW1mm-1jY4wDZnVWXfcVReHfuzev/s640/blogger-image-580980001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg_nworaUkilCCteVA4WEXB8LhBK4skMSnxVboqUYO_dcV4nyguAUghDFLhHT8kEgS6COCq5u6Yw2FYBHBagfng_IzJMWxA6-0Pt1m5ahWMxHTWxK4yW1mm-1jY4wDZnVWXfcVReHfuzev/s640/blogger-image-580980001.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPhwyutzWGY2xDDShsjicC0zHXxMiGlddcq0oYXINx4OgSWDIyL7Gv7ajrhvKs55PtAJ2PDGWukZfse-GoynTIbrfMJjkQBRjt-6XDVetNyAdi2mV50x9KTSCNHOus1A2lkpoiz4kQW1tw/s640/blogger-image--743550925.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPhwyutzWGY2xDDShsjicC0zHXxMiGlddcq0oYXINx4OgSWDIyL7Gv7ajrhvKs55PtAJ2PDGWukZfse-GoynTIbrfMJjkQBRjt-6XDVetNyAdi2mV50x9KTSCNHOus1A2lkpoiz4kQW1tw/s640/blogger-image--743550925.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div><div><br></div><div><u>Stats</u>:</div><div>12 Jan (day 7)</div><div>1.5mi</div><div>17:30</div><div>Merrells (new)</div><div><br></div><div>13 Jan (day 8)</div><div>2 mi</div><div>20:xx</div><div>Merrells (new)</div><div><br></div><div>14 Jan (day 9)</div><div>2.75 mi</div><div>26:50</div><div>Brooks PureFlow 5</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD3xAFObbufTgjYqwUsP1R98AahhxZ16g25DPYlf9_6cPYCI1nvzxGHCmJrD6B3VWI2CMKAiqUjyP1u4d4PAmh55thVOJPTUVDeEySUzfnz5LwyvMu3pReJuGS-wNliVcwNyUnvhmBSsna/s640/blogger-image--1059215493.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD3xAFObbufTgjYqwUsP1R98AahhxZ16g25DPYlf9_6cPYCI1nvzxGHCmJrD6B3VWI2CMKAiqUjyP1u4d4PAmh55thVOJPTUVDeEySUzfnz5LwyvMu3pReJuGS-wNliVcwNyUnvhmBSsna/s640/blogger-image--1059215493.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh60Ky98LD5HtnsA3eL2rmnatizis5F5i-SJBcIVufiwiOYJpRTVIR7B1hThg8uEx3qQQ6Av5HiL1PEp1FhpAj7ZFWEH0xd98z0rke_T7SrzTOzLk_2Yg6O5AoaovIQ55XHlMhtuMtOxvSh/s640/blogger-image-192091153.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh60Ky98LD5HtnsA3eL2rmnatizis5F5i-SJBcIVufiwiOYJpRTVIR7B1hThg8uEx3qQQ6Av5HiL1PEp1FhpAj7ZFWEH0xd98z0rke_T7SrzTOzLk_2Yg6O5AoaovIQ55XHlMhtuMtOxvSh/s640/blogger-image-192091153.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>Shoe Sharpehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14461205718899796986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701805834977431189.post-80256267897407873222016-01-11T23:03:00.001-05:002016-01-11T23:04:38.987-05:00Day 6, #RunStreak2<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7mGynYy0n0EtOR6J7qiRHxbXUGbzFfdXygVSdBr7oRBydO-Nz1zI6Kxsz_N-mhO6yj2aaQUNHwIpSo3xLR88dKdhuygI_u6O5xYHF14xHGCYTvhgVz0sFsYG2_BpPWu8aAdpeHB2XIZ_-/s640/blogger-image--1423364380.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7mGynYy0n0EtOR6J7qiRHxbXUGbzFfdXygVSdBr7oRBydO-Nz1zI6Kxsz_N-mhO6yj2aaQUNHwIpSo3xLR88dKdhuygI_u6O5xYHF14xHGCYTvhgVz0sFsYG2_BpPWu8aAdpeHB2XIZ_-/s640/blogger-image--1423364380.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><u>Stats:</u></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">11 Jan </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">2.25 mi</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">22:xx</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">9:46/mi</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Merrells (new)</div>Shoe Sharpehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14461205718899796986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701805834977431189.post-15632358069704259442016-01-10T23:38:00.001-05:002016-01-10T23:38:11.545-05:00Day 5, #RunStreak2Has it been 5 days already?! I've been doing great on my streak so far getting in my runs on the treadmill this weekend. I wasn't really trying to run any particular distance just trying to focus on the amount of time I'm running without stopping (as long as it was at least a mile long). Tonight I ran 20:00 @ ~6.2mph. <div><br></div><div><u>Stats:</u></div><div>10 Jan 16</div><div>2.04 mi</div><div>20:00</div><div>9:48/mi pace</div><div>Merrells (new)</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimrFOFmiGm_DT3KroKxYRT80ZqzJIX1KXU7aPJzNnJ-x1aDYfHC4b4-CoF5vjGsO_Zg4t2fvpGvk-aTWhqQ2M6gTxYn1zpqQza1rUrP9TXeTNswjD41kCttoepUl7PbLUrBlSedfMrUZod/s640/blogger-image-1632680882.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimrFOFmiGm_DT3KroKxYRT80ZqzJIX1KXU7aPJzNnJ-x1aDYfHC4b4-CoF5vjGsO_Zg4t2fvpGvk-aTWhqQ2M6gTxYn1zpqQza1rUrP9TXeTNswjD41kCttoepUl7PbLUrBlSedfMrUZod/s640/blogger-image-1632680882.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Shoe Sharpehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14461205718899796986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701805834977431189.post-74228014595505015042016-01-09T22:36:00.001-05:002016-01-10T16:12:56.283-05:00Day 4, #RunStreak2<div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Day 4. Still feeling great. Today the kids had ski practice and I'm coming down with a cold or something so I wasn't really feeling it so I went along to take pictures while the gang skiied. This is Elizabeth's 2nd year skiing and Christopher's 1st year and they both are naturals! This is day 3 and we ran the exact same distance as yesterday and ran it a whole 1min and 10 secs faster. It's not a blazing fast speed but it's an improvement. :). Plus the first day we ran she couldn't run more than 5 laps without having a walk break. Yesterday it was 8 laps (1 mi) before walking 1 lap then running the last 2. Today we ran all 10 laps with no walk breaks! Super proud of the progress. My legs are a little sore from starting the streak again after taking a long break from running so I soaked in the hot tub tonight after my run. <div><br></div><div><u>Stats:</u></div><div>8 Jan-- Day 3 #RunStreak2</div><div>1.25 mi</div><div>13:45</div><div>Merrells (new)</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNJrMX4AxMKT6N2k0f8Pbocp5JZ4A0cHvsRxOX4xTaB0cla59LSOUzKcKKyLT29p_aMVw65VZlnwFkxfrI_IMDxTRjtG_d_iy-QjBJQoXkvXAhVb9IRPTawrNmu3MCZBQoDYgeTDLKVXMy/s640/blogger-image--1087916851.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNJrMX4AxMKT6N2k0f8Pbocp5JZ4A0cHvsRxOX4xTaB0cla59LSOUzKcKKyLT29p_aMVw65VZlnwFkxfrI_IMDxTRjtG_d_iy-QjBJQoXkvXAhVb9IRPTawrNmu3MCZBQoDYgeTDLKVXMy/s640/blogger-image--1087916851.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Shoe Sharpehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14461205718899796986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701805834977431189.post-11989009269295163412016-01-08T01:53:00.001-05:002016-01-08T01:53:39.731-05:00RunStreak Attempt #2My last RunStreak after a valiant effort sadly ended after 75 days when I got the flu back in September. Since then, I ran a handful of times. I not only wanted to start running but I NEED to start running again...especially after all these sweets I ate while my parents were visiting. :)<div><br></div><div>Needless to say I started my second attempt at my RunStreak which I have appropriately nicknamed: #RunStreak2. I started it 1-6-16 (which should be fairly easy to remember) and the goal is to ease back into running and just do at least 1 mi at first and gradually ease into longer runs. I'm also trying to help a coworker get better at running. So we're running at her pace to see how far/fast she can push herself. </div><div><br></div><div>New shoes I just bought for Christmas: </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsDf-wqBTM8OvCzoLNAN0qIJlAelbdZEbT1Rag_WeIbu8jNucSB8dU__03LWzoegPqR2ElTCt0n2Kvsr1zEvfIEJgXY0VJiaTnyIg6Qlx0sIgwgUKH87rv3pWTtnBreVGoCuh2S5zEcdNu/s640/blogger-image--690758315.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsDf-wqBTM8OvCzoLNAN0qIJlAelbdZEbT1Rag_WeIbu8jNucSB8dU__03LWzoegPqR2ElTCt0n2Kvsr1zEvfIEJgXY0VJiaTnyIg6Qlx0sIgwgUKH87rv3pWTtnBreVGoCuh2S5zEcdNu/s640/blogger-image--690758315.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Awesome new shirt that is glow-n-the-dark.
